One is Tim Tennant. I'm the president of Asbury Theological Seminary, and it is my joy to invite you into this amazing study of Buddhism. Buddhism is one of the three major dissent movements that arose out of Hinduism, and Buddhism by far has been the most successful descent movement ever challenged many of the key thinkings and Hinduism. And but is, of course, today has become a major religion throughout Southeast Asia. This religion really is an opportunity for you to understand only Hinduism, but also how Buddhism arose out of it, and then ultimately how it spread throughout Southeast Asia and around the world. This course studies many of the key features of Buddhism from the rise of Buddhism to the main schools of Buddhism, and both the kind of popular side, the Mahayana Buddhism, as well as the kind of classical Theravada Buddhism. It also studies things more on the edge, like in Tibetan Buddhism or the Vajrayana or Thunderbolt vehicle Buddhism. All of this is explored in the class, and we also take time to look at really the Christian worldview and how the Christian worldview interacts with the Buddhist worldview and how we can be a better witness to Buddhist here and around the world. So I invite you to be a part of this study and to learn as a Christian what it means to encounter Buddhism here and around the world. Thank you.
