Biography
Dr. Gregg R. Allison is a professor of Christian theology at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. With a PhD from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Dr. Allison has held teaching roles at several esteemed institutions, including Western Seminary and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. In addition to his academic work, he serves as secretary of the Evangelical Theological Society, a theological advisor for Harbor Network and Upstream Sending, and is an elder at Sojourn Church Carlisle in Louisville.
Throughout his career, Dr. Allison has authored numerous influential works on theology, including Historical Theology, Sojourners and Strangers: The Doctrine of the Church, and Roman Catholic Theology and Practice: An Evangelical Assessment. His writing reflects a commitment to guiding readers in understanding complex theological concepts with clarity and depth.
Dr. Allison’s extensive ministry experience includes 18 years with Campus Crusade (Cru), where he worked in campus ministry and served as a missionary in Italy and Switzerland. He also co-pastored a church in Lugano, Switzerland. He and his wife, Nora, reside in Louisville, Kentucky, and they are blessed with three adult children and 11 grandchildren.
