ZARIUS zâr’ ĭ əs (Ζάριος). Brother of Jehoiakim, king of Judah (1 Esd 1:38; KJV ZARACES; ASV ZARAKES). This passage says that when the king of Egypt made Jehoiakim king of Judea, the latter seized his brother Zarius and brought him up out of Egypt. The v. seems to contrast with corresponding passage in 2 Chronicles 36:4.
