The Old Testament associates victory with the God of power and glory and majesty who is in full control of his creation (1Chr.29.11). That he gives victory in this life to faithful believers is seen throughout Heb.11.1-Heb.11.40. Faith is the victory that conquers the world (1John.5.4-1John.5.5), and through it Christians continually know the victory because of what God has done in Jesus Christ (1Cor.15.7). They can look unafraid at the vanquishing of sin and death—and they will not suffer the second death (Rev.2.11). All the blessings of the New Jerusalem will be inherited by the overcomers (Rev.21.1-Rev.21.7).
