UEL (ū'ĕl, Heb. ’û’ēl, will of God). One of Bani’s sons whom Ezra mentions as having taken a foreign wife (Ezra.10.34).



UEL u’ əl (אוּאֵֽל, will of God). A son of Bani who in the time of Ezra had married a foreign wife and put her away (Ezra 10:34); called JOEL in 1 Esdras 9:34 (KJV, ASV JUEL).

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia (1915)

u’-el, ’u’el,, "will of God"): One of the sons of Bani who had taken foreign wives (Ezr 10:34). The name in 1 Esdras 9:35 is "Juel" (Codex Vaticanus Ouel; Codex Alexandrinus Iouel).
