Trellis
TRELLIS (סֲבָכְ־֝עֵ֗ץ, interweaving of wood). The Heb. of Psalm 74:5, in which this word appears, is obscure. The KJV has “thick trees” instead of “wooden trellis.” The reference may be to carved woodwork at the main entrance of the sanctuary or to the “carved figures of cherubim and palm trees and open flowers, in the inner and outer rooms” (1 Kings 6:29), all of which were smashed by the axes of the invaders.
