Tower of David
DAVID, TOWER OF (מִגְדַּ֤ל דָּוִיד, wall- or watchtower of David q.v.). A famous Davidic fortress, built in תַּלְפִּיֹּ֑ות, courses of stones (KB) and hung with shields, but now unknown except as a symbol of strength [[Song of Solomon]]. “David’s Tower” by Jerusalem’s Jaffa Gate is only medieval, built on a Herodian substructure.
