The Ahohite

<strong>AHOHITE, THE</strong> <strong>ə hō’ hīt</strong> (<span class="hebrew">הָאֲחוֹחִ֑י</span>). Probably a patronymic used by the descendants of Ahoah (q.v.). The term is always used in connection with military heroes in David’s time: Dodai (<bibleref ref="2Sam.23.9">2 Sam 23:9</bibleref> ASV) or Dodo (<bibleref ref="1Chr.11.12">1 Chron 11:12</bibleref>), Zalmon (<bibleref ref="2Sam.23.28">2 Sam 23:28</bibleref>), Ilai (<bibleref ref="1Chr.11.29">1 Chron 11:29</bibleref>).<br /><br />
