Name given to the party in Bohemia in the fifteenth century which defended the practice of Communion in one kind against the Utraquists* (Calixtines), according to the practice of the medieval church. The name derives from the Latin sub una specie (“under one kind”). With the Calixtines they received ecclesiastical recognition at the Prague Compacts (1433).
