Snuff
SNUFF (Heb. sha’aph, to inhale, naphah, to blow at). The first Hebrew word expresses the practice of wild donkeys who pant for wind like jackals because of the heat (Jer.14.6 kjv; niv “pant”). Malachi uses the second Hebrew word symbolically to express contempt for God’s sacrifices (Mal.1.13 kjv; niv “sniff”).
