Shobai

SHOBAI (shō'bī, Heb. shovāy). A gatekeeper of the temple, some of whose descendants returned with Zerubbabel (Ezra.2.42; Neh.7.45).


SHOBAI shō’ bī (שֹׁבָ֑י). Head of a family of doorkeepers of the Temple who returned with Zerubbabel from the Babylonian captivity (Ezra 2:42; Neh 7:45; 1 Esd 5:28; KJV SAMI, ASV SABI).

sho’-bi, sho-ba’-i, sho’-ba-i (shobhay; Codex Vaticanus Abaou; Codex Alexandrinus Lucian, Sobai): The head of one of the families which returned from the Babylonian captivity (Ezr 2:42; Ne 7:45).
