Salve
SALVE (κολλούριον, κολλύριον). A medicinal ointment applied to the eyes (Rev 3:18; KJV EYESALVE). It may have been a Phrygian powder for which the medical school at Laodicea seems to have been famous. (See Ramsay, Seven Churches, p. 419.) The reference is to the restoration of spiritual vision.
