Roe
ROE, ROEBUCK (צְבִי, H7383, ROE, ROEBUCK KJV; GAZELLE, ROEBUCK ASV; GAZELLE RSV), (Deut 14:5). This is definitely not “roe” but “gazelle” (q.v.). The roe is the smallest deer native to Europe and SW Asia. It was once found in many parts of Pal. and adjacent countries, but the nearest area where it survives is Kurdistan.
