Ridge of Judea
RIDGE OF JUDEA (ὁ πρίων τη̂ς ̓Ιουδαίας). A geographical term of uncertain meaning. According to the [[Book of Judith]] Holofernes brought an enormous army from Nineveh to Pal. “Then he came to the edge of Esdraelon, near Dothan, fronting the great ridge of Judea,” and there he camped for a month as he waited for supplies (Judg 3:9). It has been suggested that there is a textual error here, but if there is, it is not known what the correct reading might be.
