Possidius

d. c.440. Biographer and friend of Augustine.* He was a member of the monastery at Hippo until he was made bishop of Calama about 400. As such he was active in supporting Augustine's opposition to Donatism* and to the Pelagian* heresy. In addition to the biography he left a careful though incomplete list of Augustine's works.
