POMMEL (גֻּלָּה, H1657). The KJV tr. of the bowl-shaped capitals of the two Temple pillars, Jachin and Boaz (2 Chron 4:12, 13, RSV BOWLS). The KJV has “bowls” in the parallel passage, 1 Kings 7:41, 42.
