Perjury
PERJURY. A word rarely found in our English Bible (but see Mal.3.5; Jer.7.9; 1Tim.1.10) but closely related to several biblical words such as oath or punishment. Oaths were considered to be binding promises, so that to break an oath was regarded as perjury as well as using falsehood under oath (Lev.19.12; Ezek.16.59).
