Peninnah
PENINNAH (pē-nĭn'a, Heb. penninâh, coral). One of Elkanah’s wives. She bore children and taunted Hannah (1Sam.1.2-1Sam.1.7) because Hannah was childless.
PENINNAH pĭ nĭn’ ə (פְּנִנָּ֑ה). The wife of Elkanah the Ephraimite, the father of Samuel (1 Sam 1:2, 4). She taunted Hannah, Elkanah’s other wife, because she had children whereas her rival did not. Hannah prayed for a child, and the Lord answered her prayer by giving her Samuel (1 Sam 1).
