Ophites
Gnostic sect. Origen, and Celsus through Origen, provide what is principally known about them: the Ophites' diagrammatic approach to the total cosmos, having at its highest level the Kingdom of God with the Son as inner core; and their liturgy, which is a symbolic rite of passage through the stages thus diagrammed. Theologically one sees further Gnosticization of the Apostle John's celestial geography, with corresponding denial of the reality of history and/or time.
