MORTAL, MORTALITY. In the OT (only in Job.4.17) this represents the Hebrew ’ĕnôsh (lit. “man”), translated “mortal man.” In the NT it is the translation of thnētos—subject to death (Rom.8.11; 1Cor.15.53-1Cor.15.54). “Mortality” occurs only in 2Cor.5.4 and is a translation of the same Greek word.
