Megilloth
MEGILLOTH mĭ gĭl’ ŏth. The pl. form of מְגִלָּ֣ה, meaning “scroll” or “roll” (Jer 36:28, 29; Ezek 3:1-3). The megilloth are shorter OT books, brief enough to be read publicly at an annual religious festival: [[Song of Songs]] (Passover), Ruth (Pentecost), Lamentations (the ninth of Ab), Ecclesiastes (Tabernacles), and Esther (Purim).
