Meal
MEAL (Heb. qemah in Gen.18.6; sōleth in Lev.2.1; Gr. aleuron in Matt.13.33). The ground grain used for both food and sacrificial offerings. It typified Christ in his perfect humanity. It has a remote figurative use in such passages as Isa.47.2 and Hos.8.7. NIV generally reads “flour.”

Denotes the portion of food eaten at any one time. It is found as a compound in Ru 2:14, "meal-time," literally, "the time of eating."
