MAOCH (mā'ŏk, Heb. mā‘ôkh, a poor one). Father of Achish, a king of Gath (1Sam.27.2). He protected David and his troop from Saul (1Sam.29.1-1Sam.29.11).
MAOCH, mā’ ŏk (מָעֹ֖וכְ). The father of Achish, king of Gath, with whom David and his men took refuge when he was pursued by Saul (1 Sam 27:2). He may be the same as the Maacah mentioned in 1 Kings 2:39.
