Lintel

LINTEL lĭn’ təl (מַשְׁקוֹף, H5485, a projecting cover). The head-piece of a door, carrying the weight of the structure above it. The Israelites were commanded to mark it with the blood of the paschal lamb when the Passover was instituted (Exod 12:22, 23). See [[Door]]; [[House]].
