LANE (Gr. rhymē). An alley of a city. The Greek word is usually translated “street” (Matt.6.2; Acts.9.11).

An alley or bypath of a city. Occurs once in Lu 14:21, "Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city"; elsewhere translated "street," e.g. Mt 6:2; Ac 9:11; Ecclesiasticus 9:7; Tobit 13:18.
