Kephar Ammoni

KEPHAR AMMONI (kē'far ăm'ō-nī). An Ammonite town in the territory of Benjamin (Josh.18.24). The site is unknown.



CHEPHAR-AMMONI ke’ fər ăm’ ənī (KJV CHEPHAR-HAAMONAI, כְפַ֧ר הָעַמֹּנִי). A town listed among those belonging to the tribe of Benjamin (Josh 18:24). The name means “the “Ammonite village,” presumably because it was inhabited by (or perhaps was captured from) Ammonites. The site is unknown.

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia (1915)

A place in the territory of Benjamin (Jos 18:24). It may be identical with Kefr `Ana, a ruined site about two miles to the Northeast of Bethel.
