Jokshan

JOKSHAN (jŏk’shăn, Heb. yoqshān, meaning unknown). Son of Abraham and Keturah (Gen.25.2-Gen.25.3). Sheba and Dedan descended from him.


JOKSHAN jŏk’ shăn (יָקְשָׁ֔ן). Son of Abraham and Keturah, and the father of Sheba and Dedan (Gen 25:2; 1 Chron 1:32). It has been suggested that it is the same as Joktan (Gen 10:25).

Son of Abraham and Keturah (Ge 25:2,3 parallel 1Ch 1:32). Tuch suggested that yoqshan = yoqTan (Ge 10:25-29); see HDB, under the word; Skinner, Gen, 350.
