IRU (ī'rū, Heb. ‘îrû). Eldest son of Caleb (1Chr.4.15), probably to be read Ir.


IRU ī’ rōō (עִ֥ירוּ). The eldest son of Caleb; listed in the genealogy of the tribe of Judah (1 Chron 4:15). The name should prob. be spelled Ir, the -u being simply the conjunction and belonging to the following word, Elah.
