HOSEN, an archaic Eng. word for “leggings” or “long trousers” (Ger. cognate Hose/n, “trousers”), appears in KJV of Daniel 3:21 for Aram. noun פַּטִּישׁ, H10582, although its exact meaning is unknown The Rabbinic traditions suggest variously, “turban,” “trousers” and “coat,” RSV follows JPS, “tunics.”
