Hemdan
HEMDAN (hĕm'dăn, Heb. hemdān, pleasant). A son of Dishon and descendant of Seir, the Horite (Gen.36.26). NIV also has “Hemdan” in 1Chr.1.41, but the Hebrew text, MLB, Mof, NASB, and RSV have “Hamran,” and KJV and NEB have “Amram.”
HEMDAN hĕm’ dăn (חֶמְדָּ֥ן). Son of the clan chief Dishon; descendant of Seir; ancestor of a native Horite subclan in Edom (Gen 36:26). In 1 Chronicles 1:41 the name appears as HAMRAN (KJV AMRAM).
