Hamutal

HAMUTAL (ha-mū'tal, father-in-law is dew). Mother of two kings of Judah, Jehoahaz (2Kgs.23.31) and Zedekiah (2Kgs.24.18).


HAMUTAL hə mu’ təl (חֲמוּטַ֥ל). Wife of Josiah; mother of Jehoahaz and Zedekiah, kings of Judah (2 Kings 23:31; 24:18; Jer 52:1).

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia (1915)

A daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah, and wife of King Josiah, and mother of Jehoahaz and Zedekiah (2Ki 23:31; 24:18; Jer 52:1). In the last two references and in the Septuagint the name appears as "Hamital."
