Ha-Eleph

HA-ELEPH hā e’ lĭf (הָאֶ֜לֶף, the ox). A town in the territory of Benjamin (Josh 18:28; KJV and ASV have ELEPH). The name should prob. be joined to the preceding word, as in the LXX, giving Zela-ha-eleph. It may be the same as the modern Salah, not far N of Jerusalem, but other places have also been suggested. See Zela.
