Esh-baal

ESH-BAAL (ĕsh'-bā'ăl, Heb. ’esha‘al, man of Baal). The fourth son of Saul (1Chr.8.33; 1Chr.9.39). The same man is called Ishbosheth in 2Sam.2.8, 2Sam.2.10, 2Sam.2.12, et al. He was made king of Gilead by Abner after Saul’s death. A few years later he was murdered.
