Elzabad

ELZABAD (ĕl-zā'băd, ĕl'za-băd)

A Gadite who joined David at Ziklag (1Chr.12.12).The son of Shemaiah and a Korahite Levite (1Chr.26.7).



ELZABAD ĕl zā’ băd (אֶלְזָבָ֖ד, God has given). 1. The ninth of eleven Gadite army officers who joined David while he was with the Philistines at Ziklag in exile from Saul (1 Chron 12:12).

2. A Korahite gatekeeper, son of Shemaiah, grandson of Obed-edom, whose offspring were well qualified for the service (1 Chron 26:7).
