ELIUD (ē-lī'ŭd). The son of Akim and father of Eleazar and ancestor of Christ (Matt.1.14-Matt.1.15).
ELIUD ĭ lī’ əd (̓Ελιούδ, G1809, my God is glory). An ancestor of Jesus, according to Matthew’s genealogy (Matt 1:14, 15). In the fifth generation before Jesus, he was the son of Achim and father of Eleazar.
