EBEZ ē’ bĕz (אָֽבֶץ, LXX ̔Ρεβες, which may imply an original Heb. רבץ). KJV ABEZ. A town (Josh 19:20) located in the territory of Issachar, which occupied the greater part of the fertile plain of Esdraelon. However, the actual location of Ebez is unknown.

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia (1915)

(’ebhets, meaning unknown; Rhebes; the King James Version Abez):

One of the 16 cities in Issachar (Jos 19:20). The name seems to be cognate to that of the judge Ibzan (Jud 12:8-10). All else concerning it is conjecture.
