CURTAINS (Heb. yerî‘âh)

The curtains of fine linen and goats’ hair that covered the tabernacle (Exod.26.1ff.; Exod.38.9ff.). Gradually the “curtains” gave their name to the entire structure.Employed figuratively by Isaiah (Exod.40.22), referring to the heavens. He uses the word dōq, literally, “gauze.”
