Cub

CUB kub (כּ֔וּב). The ASV rendering of a place mentioned only in Ezekiel 30:5; KJV CHUB. The RSV has LUD, i.e. Libya, as was read by LXX. Libya, in the earlier part of the same verse (KJV) is a mistranslation of Put (so ASV, RSV). Cf. Nahum 3:9, where Libyans are referred to along with Cush, Egypt, and Put, as here.

International Standard Bible Encyclopedia (1915)

The word occurs only in Eze 30:5. There it is almost certainly a corruption, and we should read, as in Septuagint, "Lub," i.e. Libya. Libya, in the earlier part of the same verse (the King James Version), is a mistr of "Put," thus correctly rendered in the Revised Version (British and American).
