Crimson

CRIMSON (Heb. karmîl, tôlā‘). This refers to the brilliant red dye obtained from a bug. The word is applied to garments (2Chr.2.7, 2Chr.2.14; Jer.4.30 kjv). The best-known citation is doubtless the prophet’s assurance in Isa.1.18.
