Chair

CHAIR (כִּסֵּא, H4058, from Sumer. GU.ZA). Frequently כִּסֵּא, H4058, refers to a king’s throne, but sometimes an ordinary chair is in view. Elisha’s stool or chair (RSV) in his little room in Shunem also could be rendered “seat” (2 Kings 4:10). Eli had a chair at the door of God’s house at Shiloh (1 Sam 1:9; cf. Job 29:7).
