Ceremonial Law
CEREMONIAL LAW. This is a name frequently given to that part of the Mosaic law which deals with the externals of religion, with the cultus, ceremonies, festivals, sacrifices, and the like. To make this classification with the thought of minimizing the importance of the things covered by these injunctions is unwholesome. Strictly speaking, these features were regarded as the normal expression of a right relation to God and in need of divine regulation as was the whole of life of man under the law of love issuing forth from faith.
