Carts
CARTS. Carts and wagons are very ancient. In Gen.45.19-Gen.45.21 Pharaoh provided carts for the wives and children of Jacob for their journey into Egypt. In the days of Eli, the Philistines took the ark of God, and, finding it a most unwelcome guest, put it on a cart and let it go back to Israel (1Sam.6.1-1Sam.6.21); but when David later desired to bring the same ark to his city, he used a cart, and there was a disastrous event connected with that arrangement (see 2Sam.6.1-2Sam.6.11).
