CARKAS kär’ kəs (כַרְכַּ֔ס, vulture) One of seven eunuchs who served King Ahasuerus of Persia (Esth 1:10 KJV, ASV CARCAS). They were ordered by the king to bring Queen Vashti before the princes of the empire, during a long banquet, to show off her beauty. The name is Pers.
