BESODEIAH (bĕs'ō-dē'ya, Heb. besôdheyâh, in the counsel of Jehovah). The father of Meshullam, a builder under Nehemiah (Neh.3.6).

BESODEIAH bĕz’ ə de’ yə (בְּסֹֽודְיָ֑ה, in the secret council of Yah). This man was listed as the father of a certain Meshullam who helped to rebuild the Old Gate in the wall of Jerusalem under Nehemiah (Neh 3:6).

bes-o-de’-ya, bes-o-di’-a (becodheyah, "in the confidence or counsel of Yah"; compare Jer 23:18,22; and HPN, 207, 221, 286): Father of Meshullam, the builder (Ne 3:6).
