Berries

BERRIES (גַּרְגַּר, H1737; ἐλαία, G1777, olive berries). There are two separate mentions of berries, both relating to Olive|olives (Isa 17:6; James 3:12).

In Isaiah, advice is given to farmers about leaving berries on upper boughs for the poor to glean. James, however, says that a truly consecrated tongue cannot possibly produce Curse|cursing, just as a fig tree cannot bear olives.
