Azarel, Azareel
AZAREL, AZAREEL (ăz'âr-ĕl, a-zā'rē-ĕl, Heb. ‘ăzar’ēl, God is helper). 1. A Levite who entered the army of David at Ziklag (1Chr.12.6).
2. A musician in the temple in David’s time (1Chr.25.18).
3. A captain in the service of David (1Chr.27.22).
4. A man Ezra persuaded to divorce his foreign wife (Ezra.10.41).
5. A priest who lived in Jerusalem after the Exile (Neh.11.13).
6. A musician who played in the procession when Jerusalem’s new wall was dedicated (Neh.12.36).
