Ashuri

ASHURI (ăsh'ŭr-ē; kjv, rsv, Ashurites). Mentioned as a part of the realm of Ish-Bosheth, son of Saul (2Sam.2.9 and niv footnote). Possibly the same as the Asherites or people of Asher (Judg.1.32). The “Asshurites” of Gen.25.3, mentioned among the Arabian descendants of Abraham through Keturah, may be the same. In Ezek.27.6 the Hebrew text reads “daughter of Ashurites” (cf. kjv), but most prefer to translate as NIV; see also NIV footnote.
