Aphairema
APHAIREMA ə fâr’ ə mə (̓Αφαίρεμα; KJV APHEREMA ə fĕr’ ə mə; ASV APHAEREMA ə fer’ ə mə). One of three districts taken from Samaria and added to Judaea by the king of Syria, Demetrius Nicator (Jos. Antiq. XIII. iv. 9; 1 Macc 10:38). This was subsequently confirmed by Demetrius II (11:34). It was near Bethel and represents the Aram. place named Ephraim. It is identified with the present et-Taiyibeh.
