Ammi

AMMI (ăm'ī, Heb. ’ammî, my people). A symbolic name given to Israel (Hos.2.1 kjv, nasb), it is predictive of God’s reconciliation to them, in contrast to sinful Israel, which is represented by Hosea’s son Lo-Ammi, “not my people” (Hos.1.9). See Rom.9.25-Rom.9.26.

AMMI ăm’ ī (עַמִּ֣י, my people). The new name to be applied to Israel in the time of restoration, in contrast to rejected Israel, called Loammi, “Not my people,” the name given to Hosea’s third child by Gomer (Hos 2:1; 1:9, 10).
