Altar of Witness

WITNESS, ALTAR OF (עֵד, H6332, witness). An altar built on the W side of the Jordan River by the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Manassah, who settled E of the Jordan, to bear witness to the fact that they, as well as the W Jordan tribes, had a “portion in the Lord” (Josh 22:21-34).
