Altar of Witness

<strong>WITNESS, ALTAR OF</strong> (<span class="hebrew">עֵד</span>, <span class="gknumber">H6332</span>, <em>witness</em>). An altar built on the W side of the <span class="auto-link">[[Jordan River]]</span> by the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Manassah, who settled E of the Jordan, to bear witness to the fact that they, as well as the W Jordan tribes, had a “portion in the Lord” (<bibleref ref="Josh.22.21-Josh.22.34">Josh 22:21-34</bibleref>).<br /><br />
